Tamagotchi Gudetama Nano Guide

The Gudetama Tamagotchi Nano was released on December 31, 2017 in Japan. It is a Gudetama themed Nano with a couple of new features added in. Two shells and two silicon covers were released. Bandai offered the shells by themselves, and also bonus packs that came with a shell and one silicon cover.

Menu

  • Food (たべもの)
    • Soy Sauce (しょうゆ)
    • Tomato (トマト)
  • Game (ゲーム)

Startup
When you first start your tama, you will see the clock screen. Use the A button to set the hour. Be mindful of AM and PM. Press the B button to confirm. Use the A button to change the minutes. Then press the B button a final time to confirm.

You will see the egg on the screen for about 20 seconds, then a baby Gudetama is hatched.

Sound
To mute the sound, press and hold the C button, then press the A button. You will see a menu pop up with おん (on) and おふ (off). Use the A button to select on or off, then press the B button to confirm.

Setting the Clock
To set the clock to a different time, press the B button while on the character screen. On the clock screen, press and hold the C button, then press the A button. Use the A button to set the hour, then press the B button to confirm. Press the A button to set the minutes, then press the B button for a final confirmation.

Food
To feed your Gudetama, press the A button while on the character screen. Select food, then select soy sauce. The other food is a tomato which serves as Gudetama's treat or snack. Soy sauce will fulfill his hunger, while tomatoes will fulfill his happiness.

Game
The game on the Gudetama Nano is very simple. Gudetama will hide inside one of two eggs. You have to guess which one he hid in. Press the A button to select the left egg. Press the B button to select the right egg. You get five tries in each round. Getting at least three out of five successes wins the game. There is actually a trick to this game. Start the game, and choose the right egg. If Gudetama appears, you can get a perfect game. If he isn't in that egg, exit the game, and try again when he is. When Gudetama is in the right-side egg, you can time your B button presses to always have him show up in the right egg. The eggs do a little dance, shaking them up before you get to choose one. Time pressing the B button right when the right-side egg lands for the final time before it lets you choose. If you time pressing B just right, you can get a perfect game every time using this method, which helps with one of the character evolutions.

Calls
Like in other Nanos, there is no on-screen alert. You need to listen for it. If you miss it, or have your sound muted, you can press the C button to see if he needs anything. His reaction will be different depending on which character you have. Gauge his reaction to see if he needs care.

Chopsticks
You may hear your tama call, or see chopsticks on the screen poking at Gudetama. These are chopsticks of someone about to eat him! Press the A button to scare them away, and save Gudetama.
